We now have our Website up!! mariposafishandgame.org Stop by and check up out The “Women on Range” program had a very successful kick off. Eleven Women participated in learning about Range and Firearm safety. We then worked with a wide variety of handguns, shooting everything that caught their interest. A discussion of the various handgun shooting sports available as well as some of the self defense aspects were reviewed. After we finished with the handguns, we moved on over to the Shotgun Range and the ladies tried some trap shooting. A great time was had by all, with nothing but positive comments and promises to come back for more. If your interested in this program, contact Dave at 742-7046 or Karen Smith. 966-6406.

The club was formed in August 1930, filed with the State of California in April 1941, as a non-profit organization. The club bylaws state that the purpose of the club is to provide opportunities for club members to engage in hunting, fishing and shooting activities. To achieve those opportunity, the club pursues activities which increase the knowledge and practice of hunting and fishing skills, marksmanship, and other recreation activities that are in harmony with the sports of hunting and fishing. We now have over three hundred members, attracted from all over the Central Valley and West Coast. Events sponsored by the club, include fishing derbies, shotgun, pistol, and rifle shooting. We feel that the future of our club depends upon the youth participation. It is very important to our club that the youth of our community always come first. The club has a Youth Activities Program for young boys and girls between 8 and18 years of age. Some past club activities have been Hunter’s Safety training, Hunting instruction, Fishing instruction, Youth Shooting Sports, Youth Fishing Derbies, Wildlife conservation, an Annual Kid’s Day, and coming soon Archery.
